Utilita has announced a change to its range of tariffs (energysaver, energysaver plus and planetsaver). The change amounts to a 5% increase for electricity users, and a small decrease to the gas price. Prices will become effective for existing customers on November 1st but are already being quoted on this service as the current tariff. As of September 2007, new customers to Utilita should also note that they will be signing on to an initial 1 year term contract. Despite the term, customers will be able to switch away from Utilita without penalty at any point in the event of a further price change or in the event of a house move.
